I began volunteering at the Noroton Heights Fire Department in the winter of my sophomore year of high school. I quickly learned how good it felt to give back to the community. Since then, volunteering has been a part of my daily life, I’ve stayed active with community service and helped many people. But there is always room for improvement, I figured, I don’t only need to help through the fire service, but I can do other things as well. That’s when I learned about my friend, Gavin’s group which caught my attention because it involved two things that were close to me, Venezuela and Legos. I find these two things interesting because my family originates from Venezuela, and the legos that we were receiving were being sent back to Venezuela, so my family loved it and encouraged me to join and find a leadership position with the group. The other thing that I found interesting, was of course, the legos. I’ve always found legos interesting, I still do. I love legos because there are endless possibilities of outcomes if you give somebody legos. I believe that you can find out alot from a person just by what they build with their legos.
