About Us
Building Legos is a simple yet brain-challenging activity that we all loved as kids. Whether it was unboxing that one lego star wars set on Christmas or simply building from your bin, Legos have brought joy into every soul it has touched. For this exact reason, We created “Le’go of Your Legos.” We are a non for profit organization that aims to donate Legos to schools in underprivileged communities. Our mission is to spread that childhood love and excitement to kids who have not yet had their hands on these bricks and to give them unforgettable experiences. We believe that Legos enhance creativity and may be utilized in the classroom as a way to teach the basics of stem. The possibilities are endless, and students have fun, so what’s not to like?
The founders
“Le’go of Your Legos” is an organization run out of Darien, Connecticut, founded By Eric Coppé and Gavin Samamé. Eric and I are part of the class of 2025 at Darien High School and are on a mission to build our organization. Our friendship kicked off immediately when Eric transferred from Texas in the fifth grade. Living only down the street, we would often hang out and mess around with Legos spending countless hours creating and building. Through maturing, we have realized that rather than letting our Legos dust, they would go a very long way to bringing other children joy. For this reason, while we still love Legos, we have decided to start “Le’go of Your Legos” to donate Legos to schools in underprivileged areas. We seek to connect with local communities in Connecticut and later expand our range as we get deeper into the process. Additionally, we plan to occasionally send shipments overseas to Venezuela and Mexico in honor of our personal heritages. In fact, our first donations were sent back in April of 2023 to a local school in Caracas, Venezuela, thanks to the help of Eric’s family connections in the country. With this said, we thank you for joining us on this journey; now, let’s go make a difference.
